Well Grant all I can tell you is, after trying 6 ways to Sunday to get the Lakewood going over a year I happened to notice the low tension leads to the coil were on backwards (+ to -. -to+). After that it fired right up (after 29 years of sleep). Also, though, it had new ignition wires, plugs, etc., and a battery as well as rebuilt carbs.
