Hmm. Let's see how this would be in today's prices, adjusting for inflation
only.
http://www.westegg.com/inflation/infl.cgi

                   1963 2003
---------------------------------
500 coupe $1992 $11,580.94
700 coupe $2056 $11,953.02
700 sedan $2110 $12,266.96
900 coupe $2415 $14,040.15
900 sedan $2450 $14,243.63
900 vert: $2525 $14,679.66
Spyder cpe: $2440 $14,185.49
Spyder vert $2550 $14,825.00

Some options:

AC $350 $2,034.80
Front belts $19 $ 110.46
Tinted glass $27 $ 156.97
Radio $48-57 $ 279.06 - 331.38
Power top $54 $ 313.94
Wire hubcaps $27-38 $ 156.97 - 220.92
K-H wire wheels $404 $2,348.75
PG trans $157 $ 912.75
4 sp $92 $ 534.86
Posi $38 $ 220.92
110 engine $30 $ 174.41
Whitewall tires $29 $ 168.60

Of course, you'd have to add all the goverment regulations and environmental
taxes, etc., not to mention all the safety and emissions equipment that
would have to be added. Then, of course, people would want more luxury
items, such as power doors, locks, windows, mirrors, etc.

By the time you are done you would be looking at about $25-30K, or about the
same cost as it takes to restore one :-(
