I did an exterior exam of the transmission and here is what I have found.

On the pass anger side their is a square bolt mid way up, centered.

On the drivers side their is a plug in piece with 1 wire going into it
and what looks like a connector for a vacuum line.
It has 7 bolts on it that look like if they are removed I can examine the
innards.

Front/center grease on the rod, and a small quantity of grease under that
area.

On the bell housing connection (passenger side rear), the rod also has a
small quantity of grease on it. The piece that the rod goes threw,
bolted on with 2 bolts, is firmly bolted on, but is not flush (about a
1/8 inch gap in the middle), with the case.

If I use a 2/4 to hold the clutch peddle down I can move the shifter from
the underside. I hear the same noise I hear from the topside.

It does not have a topside filler.

No holes or bolts on the topside of the 4sp.

Am I correct and that square bolt is where I can fill it from.

Thanks to all who can help. And thanks to those who have helped.
