Tim,
The side movement is caused by too much wear in the carrier where the axle
goes
through into the side gears. The fix is to bore the carrier out and install
a bushing
then have the bushing honed out to fit the axle shaft. Not an inexpensive
proposition.
A lot of movement at the stub axle results in very little movement at the
wheel where
it's important so for a show car, not to be driven very much you would
probably be
OK to use them as is.
