mechanical Murphy's laws...

Murphy's Law of Selective Gravity:
  An object will fall so as to do the most damage.

Murphy's Fuel Line Theorem:
    Any piece of steel line cut to length will be too short.

Murphy's Wiring Harness Conjecture:
    If a wire has one end, then it has another.

Murphy's Wife's View of Corvairs:
    Fools rush in where fools have been before.
