Bolt through the skid plate at the back bottom of the engine. I recall the
torque spec is about 20ftlb.

Fine threads in Aluminum - Not including Pipe threads. The thermistor was
one
instance. Of course, the thermistor was only used on some Corvairs. The
other
instance of fine threads in aluminum was used on more Corvairs, but still
not
on every Corvair, except for two years when it was used on all models and
engines. Any guesses? - Seth
