What's the best way to jack and insert stands for the rear end of a late
model?

CH,
Jack the car up by placing the jack under the side of the car on the pinch
wield about one foot in front of the rear jack pad. This will raise both the
rear and front at the same time. Even if you want to raise just the rear of the
car it's best to place jack stands at both front and rear. You can keep the
front lower if you wish, but this stabilizes the car so it's safer to work
under. Never jack up the rear by the skid plate as this will destroy the rear
motor mount. Don't ask me how I know. Also, never jack the car up by placing
the jack under the differential case. Sure way to crack the dif case or ruin
all three of the motor mounts.
