Wow. It's good to see it's having another life.
Personally I'd like to see it restored to exactly the way it was when built
 the first time

****According to the doccumentation, that would be hard to do. it was
constantly changing. I plan on restoring it the way it was whan it was in "Hot Rod"
and "Sports Car Graphic" . I.e. Snow plow front, huge air scoop on back and
carb/turbo nearly in the back seat.

and put it in the Corvair Museum,

*** That's a thought, but I think that it's meant to be driven and
dynamically displayed first to gather a little Patina.

 but it's always a hard
decision what to do with as important a piece as that.
On the other hand it'll be a blast to drive it and/or see it being driven as
 it was intended.
Why on Earth did it sit in the desert for 16 years after it was restored?

****I can only guess that it was disappointment over the result and people
taking back their contributions to the project. Other than being faded and
extremely dirty it's in surprizingly good shape. In Indiana, it would have been a
pile of Iron Oxide by now. It has zero rust.
