I believe that the Corvair is not considered a boxer because opposing 
pistons do not "box," but reciprocate.  More like the Mohammed Ali style, 
perhaps, but not a true boxer, in which the center of mass of each opposing 
piston pair doesn't move.  Thus the requirement of a separate crank throw 
for each piston in a real boxer.
