Today was the Wichita Region SCCA's first autocross event of the year. The
weather started out clear and windy and ended up very nice with very little
wind, almost perfect. My '66 Corsa was entered in ESP class even though I'm
running my street tires. On my first run, I had some trouble with one of the 180s
and ended up on the wrong side of a cone and got a DNF. After going of course, I
hesitated for a split second before continuing the run. My second run was
much better, I stayed on course for starters but also shaved 1.5 seconds of my
time. The third run was a repeat of the second, but 0.1 slower. My last run was
my best of the day, another 0.2 seconds faster than the second run. Overall
I'm very happy with my car's performance. I definitely need to work on the loose
condition.

The real surprise was the award presentations at the end of the day. I hung
around to see what my friends won and was totally surprise when they called my
name as first in ESP!
