fact, if you dump 10 gallons of AVGAS into a Vair and take off down the
interstate, a well maintained 140 will just SCREAM!!!! 75 mph and not even
half way into the gas, in fact barely pushing down on the gas. All of the
engines ills will go away in a 20 mile drive, and a nice gray coating on the
inside of the tailpipe lets you know the lead is working.

Isn't this where we started out in '99?? ggg

OCTANE is not power......it's the resitance to "self ignition" [ detonation ]

It allows an engine that detonates on a lower octane...and looses power since
it comes at the wrong time [ too early] to run under load..thus making more
power..

High octane fuel is DIRTY fuel....plain and simple...."cleanest / highest
quality" is LOWEST OCTANE....

And an engine that CAN be made to PING SLIGHTLY is running the correct
OCTANE....any higher and you are losing power....albeit a slight loss...

Hank, if you'd get the EUM running...you'd be "refreshed" as to what makes
our engines go! gggg
