Check the lower edge of your distributor and see if it has a little oil cap
like those on electric motors (AND your generator, right there on the same
engine). If it does, put OIL in that hole every thousand miles or two (like
the 1961 Shop Manual tells you to do). I neglected to, and ended up with a
seized distributor very far from home. Of course, get the generator at the
same time.

Be careful here!!!!
You have an early style distributer, are you sure you do not have a complete
early style moptor in the car? 60-61!
If that is the case, you have to also use the early style fuel pump as the
piston is a different length than the 62 and later pump.
Before continuing determine what year the motor is.
