Agreed on the tandem , the life you save may be your own  ... used ones are
about $1000, new up to $2000 ... get electric brake .... one other thing :::
if you get side rails, it's great to tie stuff up ... however .... you have
to crawl in a window, you can;'t get the doors open.
Also:: the standard load ramps are generally .... marginal.  If ya got a
welder guy, have him make a serious pair, about 6-8 ft long, and better
racks under the bed to hold them.
