i run engines on the bench all the time. i have a starter with a chunk of a
broken differential with ign switch and bulb on it i made up to speed up hook
up. i use an outboard marine tank on the floor with a squeeze bulb primer hose
to fill carbs with. it is safer and works well. pictures of some of my running
engines are at the web picture site somewhere.. i am buried in past posts and
intend to try to read them all(at least the indexes) before string them .
things are really piled up here.it was a very fine job at convention , plus i
lucked out with a couple of rare tools i have wanted to try for years at good
prices.luggage was only 5 lbs overweight for flying so cost $5 per pound over.. i
hope to have time to assemble a new engine soon and bench run it to tweak it
before installing. i always have everything running well and adjusted before
installing it. now to sort emails, and over 1200 pictures i took...
       regards, tim colson
