I know, I know! I must have missed your original post in the crapstorm of
useless B.S.<G>
On your inner doorskin there is a louver across the bottom where the
waterproof paper tucks into. In the middle of this slot, there's a
reinforcement that connects the top of the slot to the bottom of the door.
That reinforcement is always broken from what I've seen, probably from
pulling the door shut.
I've replaced the reinforcement with a little heavier one, better attached.
Wiggle the strip of metal over the louver. You'll see what I mean. If the
reinforcement is intact, it won't wiggle.

    Certainly no one responded to my question about eliminating rattles in
rebuilding doors in the early convertible last week while opining on "rocket
scientists" and the acronyms that they use. The topic of rebuilding worn out
window regulators is not discussed in the shop manual. I'll post a note if I
determine a useful solution.
