Hi Terry,

You can buy a special deep socket that is perfect for installing the unit, 
but if you get one off the shelf, it likely won't fit past the alternator 
pulley.  I had to pull the alternator on mine to get clearance.  The one 
they show in the tech manual, and presumably the one you get from the 
vendors, is flared at the end and probably sneaks past the alternator.

Once I changed mine, I found that while that particular leak is now gone, I 
am leaking a lot more oil elsewhere.  It is as though I sealed one leak and 
increased pressure on the others....
