Well, desperation won over.  Instead of trying to take the oil 
-generator adaptor off, I just decided to lift that bad boy up on its 
bell housing all by my lonesome.  Went smooth as silk much to my 
surprise and relief.  I have adjusted the #1 valve,  but now I'm ready 
to do the others and now have run into another problem.  Which of the 
valves is the intake and which is the exhaust going in the direction 
from rear housing cover to the bell housing?
