There simply isn't a "thingy" on any Corvair.  They aren't "hotties" either.  
After all the heat we took (and sometimes still take) from the V8 Ponycar 
guys I'm not about to admit to any parts that have cute nicknames.  Stupid, macho 
nicknames, flaming profane nicknames sure.  But "thingy"?????????????
