<VV> Polishing and buffing the aluminum trim on my 64

Hi Gang,

While the 64 is in getting body work done... I've got quite a bit of
polishing to do on the aluminum trim that I won't be replacing.  I purchased
some Mothers brand aluminum/mag wheel polish, but it isn't working worth a
darn.

Does anyone have a polishing/buffing technique which works for corvair trim?
Include the name of your preferred type of polishing compound(s) if you have
any.
