<VV> Convention disappointment!

Funnily enough, I have an American friend that is in England on a gambling
trip at the moment (they have just deregulated it here so that the
government can take lots of money in tax revenues (sorry - what can I be
thinking of - so that the people can have a jolly nice time!).

However, my twin problems are a) I have no money to gamble with (although
the prospect of the cheap hotel rooms beckons, if I could have the
self-discipline to stay away from the tables!); and b) it would have to be a
long weekend trip, out the day before the convention started and back the
day it finished.

That's what makes it hard, really - even doing it like that you really lose
two days each way, because the trip itself takes a day or a night, you lose
8 hours time and you are 100% jetlagged the next day!

Cheers

Alan
