If you want to see what happens when the suppliers find that producing parts 
for a particular hobby is no longer profitable, look at jukeboxes.  Been 
doing them for 20+ years.  50's boxes are hot and repro parts are plentiful, 
but the 40's ones that used to be desireable are not so much so anymore. The 
guys that remember them as kids have lost interest, the supply of ones to 
buy fell to a trickle, and now repro parts for the older boxes that were 
plentiful 10 years ago are out of stock, never to be reproduced again.  
Takes a big bite out of the fun when you can't get what you need to do 'em 
up right.  Be thankful for the guys that have the passion about your car(s) 
to produce items - many of which sell in limited quantities and probably 
when viewed in isolation are break even based on volume - that fuel the 
hobby.  Consider the alternative...
