Smells in the heater are caused by two things; bad O rings on the engine
pushrod tubes, and/or leaky exhaust packings on the head stacks going into
the exhaust manifold. No need to remove the tunnel pan.
Accellerator sticking is USUALLY the pivot in the accellerator linkage up by
the pedal (in the forward part of the tunnel). Other than that, binding
could occur anywhere in the linkage path. Is it a late model? If so, check
the condition of the linkage pivot under the rear seat. This you remove the
rearward portion of the tunnel cover to access.
