<VV> Pressure/Temp light oddity

This is a bit weird to me.
Drive the 64 two blocks this morning, shut off the key and the
Pressure/Temp light came on brightly. Turned the key on and off a
couple times and it still stayed on.  So I turned it just enough to
bump the starter over and shut it off, and the light went out.  Few
minutes later came out to drive home....temp/pressure light came on
when i started her up..not as bright..stayed on.  I know the car was
cool and the oil pressure was OK.  Drove home 8 miles hiway with out
incident, but the light stayed on. I'm suspecting a bad sender for oil
or temp...or a grounded wire somewhere along the way....but I'm puzzled
that the light would come ON with the key OFF. How is that possible?
Gonna check 'er out after lunch.
