For whatever reason, about two oil changes ago, when I spun the oil
filter off, half of the gasket was peeled up and stuck to the filter.
It ripped it on both sides. I didn't have a replacement gasket on hand,
and I needed the car that day, so I carefully put it back on.

I had recently written this list about a small oil leak coming from
somewhere on top of the engine block, and this tear in the paper gasket
was on my mind as a candidate for the leak. In any case, because the
gasket had been torn, I wanted to replace it. The half of it that was
stuck to the adapter was really stuck on leading to my question in the
previous post.

Due to a lack of time, the leak, and because of the nice whether, I've
been driving the convertible. When I get back from vacation, I'll
replace the oil pressure switch and let everyone know if the leak was
solved.

Thanks.
