Hi,

I need to pick the collective brain here PLEASE!

I am trying to get a buddies 63 Monza Convert running a bit better. It has a 3.55 non-posi, PG, and a former sweet running, nice 62 102 stick engine. It sat about 6 to 9 months before going in this car.
I pulled the pilot bushing before installing in this car. It has Grant carbs, but I pulled the covers to ensure everyting was free and clean after sitting this long. All looked good. Squirt even streams, have new filters, idle sweetly, react the same with hand over carb on either side. Uni-sync balanced perfectly. New point wire, rotor, condenser, good points and cap. New AC plugs (46FF-all I had on the shelf.) The car idles like a dream. It runs very smooth and above 20mph accellerates nicely. It is the logging between sitting at a light and flooring it that bugs me. I have seen several PG's autocrossing and they seem to 'go' decently off the line. This motor ran quick when it in the 62 with the 4 speed. Now it is a total turd off the line. The one thing I noticed about this PG is that on right turns, when you floor it, the glide seems to slip for a second and then bang back into gear.

I have never had a PG car myself save for a tired Lakewood in the 70's. I am stumped. Thanks in advance for your ideas.
