In my case I can assure you that even with the head of security at
a Retirement village, The local GM dealer would not help me. They
required vin# , current driver's license and proof of ownership which of
course was locked in the glove compartment of the locked and alarmed
1993 Park Avenue Buick which I had owned for over 10 years and never
locked myself out. We ended up calling a locksmith which was on site in
less than 20 minutes and in ten seconds unlocked the left rear door and
only charged $50 last December and a real bargain. This happened
in Spanish Fort Alabama at Westminster Village which is on the east side of
Mobile bay. The locksmith came all the way across the bay from Mobile. I don't
think race, age or gender would have affected the decision made by the GM
dealer.
It was logical and assured they would not be liable for involvement in a
car theft.
