When buying brakes notice the friction designation in the part number. 
Usually a suffix, the two letter code indicates the coefficient of friction 
of the brake shoe, both cold and hot (like awl). Typical values are EE 
which means that cold or hot the brakes have about the same friction as 
iron on iron or FF which indicates a brake that has a higher coefficient 
(lighter pedal). FE means a light pedal cold but wants more pressure when 
hot. EF is a brake that need to warm up a bit. Cdes range from CC to HH.

Last volume parts place I was in for some rear brake shoes, the counter 
critter did not even know the code was there.
