For those of you may be thinking about it, I installed my electric pump
today at the rear nestled up in the oxbow area, completely protected and
even used an existing bolt to mount it so no drilling. While not likely, if
it ever fails I can rejoin the metal fuel line with a short length of 5/16
rubber fuel line, slap in the manual pump and get home.

Works fine and you can't hear it run even with the car at idle.

I used an old manual pump with a new aluminium billet (gas goes in and out
through pre-drilled holes) in the middle so no cutting of engine bay fuel
lines. The only thing non-stock looking now (and fairly ugly at that ) is
the extra oil switch to kill the pump with zero oil pressure. I'll add that
to my increasing list of things to do after Portland.
