It is possible to do damage this way, but as long as the oil did not get TOO 
thin you are probably OK.  I would be more concerned about bearing surfaces 
than cylinder walls.  I would think the bearings would go first.

You don't keep a spare fuel pump in the car?  Order 2 - not 1.

Just leave things open while you are waiting for the pump to arrive - so any 
remaining gas can have a chance to evaporate.  I would think the extra fill 
and extra oil filter would be overkill.  Drive the car - get it good and 
warm - and burn off (evaporate) any residual gas which might still remain.
