<VV> Buying a Parts Car

I'm looking for advice on a fair price for a parts car minus the body of the
car. I'm looking at a 65 Monza Convertible that has been shortened, the
parts will work nicely on a 61 coupe I hope to beef-up. He wants the body to
put onto another car frame, so I can have everything else; drive train -
140hp 4 speed, f/r suspension, all chrome, trim pieces, dash parts, etc,
etc. No rust that can be seen, it's been sitting for at least two years
outside in the desert. It also has those spoke wheels, not wheel covers. He
gave me a price but thought it high. I have to rebuild a drive train anyway
so it might as well be a late model rather than early and the suspension
would be better. Let me know what price you believe would be fair and what
else to look for.

Thanks all,
