Bill - You haven't called us! I think you have the classic "pilot 
bushing" problem - In other words, on a "new" clutch the new pilot 
bushing can be tight (my estimate is that 50% or better of them are) and 
it will make it appear that the clutch will not release. The simple way 
to fix it is to find a safe spot, put it in first with the engine off. 
Start up with the clutch depressed and drive around, shifitng up and 
down. In about 1-5 miles it will loosen up and shift normally. Sorry I
