<VV> Timing Gear ?

Rodney,
I had a distributor go "off" on me suddenly about 30 degrees retarded once.
To time it back I had to unbolt the distributor to advance the gearing one
tooth. I'd suggest re-timing the engine (after it airs out) and let us know
how it runs then. If you find you need to unbolt the distributor to gain
back a tooth, don't remove the whole thing or you'll lose the position of
the oil pump on the end of the distributor shaft. Just raise it enough to
"jump" the tooth back.
Let us know.
