Of course Peoples Choice is not a "proper reflection" of merit.  It is just 
a reaction of the people attending, visiting, and looking at all the pretty 
cars.  As Norm said, the trophys aren't necessary.

If you want to be semi-competitive then enter the Concours and get an 
evaluation of your car.  If you just want to show-off your car ---- guess 
what --- you can put it in the Display.
