If you will check with any hydraulics or auto repair shop  
supplier/installer,in any larger city, you will probably find that they have  some perfectly 
good used car lifts taken in from closed down service stations  and auto repair 
shops.  They also usually have used oil drain tanks and  other eqpt. too.
 
I got my very strongly built Bear 7,000 pound 2 stanchion lift including  
installation for $1,300 total.  Of course, my rented warehouse  bay was about a 
1/2 mile from their shop.  I would give up several of  my cars before you could 
pry my lift from my cold stiff  fingers...........   :-)
