<VV> Brake Master Cylinder...

If a brake pedal seems nice and hard when applying a lot of pressure, 
but then slips slowly to the floor when light pressure is applied, the 
master cylinder needs rebuilding. The seal is bypassing internally, so 
no fluid leaks out, but it leaks back into the reservoir. As Matt says, 
disassembling and cleaning all the parts may solve the problem, but if 
the seal has wear, then replace...
