<VV> rampside causing me problems

So in a fit of (what is hopefully temporary) insanity, we bought a '64 Rampside today (from a well known curmudgeon) and it's already causing me problems.  We decided to drive it and our '65 Monza convertible to our local Saturday evening shine and show.  I followed behind in the convertible while my wife drove the Rampy (it's her truck really).  Now normally the convertible attracts a bit of attention which is nice but DANG, not with the Rampy nearby.  I thought one guy was going to fall off his chair swiveling his head to follow that thing.  When we parked our vehicles at the show the Rampy was SWARMED by ooglers and hardly anybody even noticed the convertible.  It was nice seeing them parked side by side with their engine hatches open.  We put the ramp down and let kids climb in and out of the bed.  My 9 year old son enjoyed telling everyone all about it.  I hope he knows what he's talking about.  A few people said they didn't even know a Corvair pickup existed!  

My poor convertible, it's going to get a complex, what is it about the Rampy that catches people's eye so much?   It sure cought mine dagnabbit.
