I think that I'm moving slowly toward an answer. There wasn't much on the  
internet that I didn't know already. And Ken's response about poor quality  
didn't describe the problem he had. 
 
What I have found out, if you care, is that the NOS GM bushings are  
apparently not sintered as I understand it, but are made of POWERED bronze, not  small 
balls of the material (maybe I just don't understand the difference if  there 
is one). Oil is apparently impregnated during the mfg process (via  vacuum), 
but it still seems oil can not be forced into the GM NOS bushing by  ordinary 
means (The pores are too small and the surface tension too high).
