<<Hey JR
Just one question
DO YOU PAY SALES TAX ON A USED CAR?

You Betcha you do.>>snip

Lonzo answers:
Not when buying it from a private individual... I'll pay a "property tax"
when I transfer it, but no sales tax.

<<So used parts should be tax free?>>snip

and Lonzo answers again:
If bought from a private individual, not a business.... I expect businesses
to charge a sales tax.

snip<<If you go to the wrecking yard, do you pay sales tax on a used part?

In most states, you betcha you do.>>snip

and Lonzo replies:
That totally depends on whether the wrecking yard was "OPEN for BUSINESS"
while I was in there getting the part.
;-)
I'm not as fast as I used to be, though.... but I'm getting better!

snip<<Don't follow that reasoning.

Hankie-baby, it all depends on if it is a "real business" or not... if it's
a real business, yes, there should be a sales tax... if it's Joe Q. Robbiniski
from Bohunk, IL, I don't expect to pay a sales tax...
Welcome back little buddy!
