My wife gave me a Craftsman 6/2hp 6.4 SFCM 150 psi for a Christmas. Rating 
seems pretty standard any more. It has a normal 110/15 plug. The garage is 
wired with 12 gauge but I have 15 amp breakers on the outlets and it hasn't 
popped any.

The compressor I have had for years is a single cyl 3/4 horse with a belt 
drive on a 60 gal tank. The power requirement seems about the same.
