Hey guys,
At church last night one of the guys came up and said "There's a Corvair
down the way that this guy just hauled in... it doesn't look bad"... so he gave
me directions and I went to look at it...
1965 500, gold with white interior... VERY RUSTY... 95hp/powerglide... and
half the engine is GONE... no heads, no carbs, no jugs.... and inside are a set
of EM style wire wheel covers, with very pitted spinners. The headliner is
gone, and the carpet is nearly so... all cardboard trim is also missing...
I think the nicest thing I could say was the glass was intact...
I asked the guy how much he was wanting for it...
his reply?
$700..........
I said "Good luck!"
I wanted to say "It's PAINTED gold, not MADE OF IT!".... but I didn't... I
didn't even leave the guy my name or number in case he needed spare parts...
Some people.....
Anyway, I'll make sure I thank the guy at church who told me about it....
and have him keep his eyes open for more...
I just wanted to share my chance encounter with the uneducated ignorant body
shop/junk yard guy...
Later,
Lonzo
