<VV> Engine problem

I had similar symptoms last year except I also had back sputtering thru the carb.  It turned out to  be a broken rocker arm (diagnosed by Larry Claypool on the phone).  Easy fix and all is well.  I do carry a spare rocker arm now though....

After blissfully driving my '65 Monza coupe (110/4spd) to work every day 
for 4 months, today on the way home, it developed a miss.  I was at a 
stop light and when I started off, the engine suddenly went to 5 
cylinders. Got home and pulled all the plugs, no problems that I can see 
there.  One thing I noticed was that I had a noisy lifter(?) on the left 
bank and now it is just a quiet, click-click...  I'm thinking that a 
rocker was loose before and it finally worked itself loose enough to 
stop moving the valve.  Is this a possibility??  Any other ideas before 
I begin disassembly??  Thanks in advance....
