the last time someone here accused the corvair of  having vapor lock i just 
said try a fuel pump or at least measure its pressure with car warm. they put a 
new pump on it and the problem seemed to go away.  never heard about it again 
 and i did not bring it up again. kinda like blameing the coil for  for a lot 
of problems , i have seen very few bad coils..
they sell a lot of them , but will not take them back (at most stores) if it 
did not fix it.
check fuel pressure or at least get right out after it quirts and look at 
carbs for fuel squirts. some fuel pump pushrods are a touch short and they have 
said in the past that could be an issue.  . see what you are really missing 
before tossing a bunch of parts at it..
