Some of you may know, in an effort to get our members to drive their Corvair
to meeting, we have a friendly competition between Earlies versus Lates. Our
club is strongly dominated by Earlies and this has resulted in "them"
winning our competition for more than a year. Last month was the first meeting that
my sedan attended. To make this event more special, I also arranged to get
my coupe to the meeting. I called all of the LM owners to get as many LM to the
meeting as possible. We pulled it off and won the competition. Tonight was
the payback. The EM guy were determined to get the title back. To try to add a
bit of humor to the whole thing, I drove my LM sedan up to Terry Kalp's shop
so I could drive one of his EMs to the meeting. The weather was perfect for
a convertible, so I got to drive Terry's 64 the 30 miles to the meeting. Man,
that was cool. I didn't get the ribbing I expected from the guys. The ride
back to the shop was a little colder, still has the top down, but it was just
as fun. I need to get me one of those, I LM though...
Just one question, do you vert driver's ever get used to the noise of the
other traffic on the highway? I kept thinking someone was trying to run me over.
