Wouldn't a quick test be whether or not it has the slotted cut-outs for the
horns?

Please bear in mind that this car was a Kansas City built car (the K in
the VIN)and production started there several weeks after Willow Run, so
possibly over a thousand or more Corvairs could have already been built.

This car is the 37th built at the Kansas plant, The 37th car built would
be VIN 00769W100037.

Yes, it is old, but not the oldest....

Does anyone have info on the oldest known surviving Corvair?

One of our members purchased a 1960 4 door with the serial number

00769K100037

Would that be the 37th Corvair made?

Does anyone know where a lower numbered one lurks?
