<VV> OIL PRESSURE

I recently installed an electric oil pressure gauge myself (not Clarks)
and I think it's reading about half of what the engine is actually
getting.. showing virtually zero at idle on what I know is a fresh,
perfectly running engine. (My sender is on an adapt-a-bolt on the
filter.) I think it's the long wiring run that may effect the reading.
It's also possible that the sending unit doesn't have a good ground (if
Teflon tape was used on it).

Keep in mind that a Corvair engine is low pressure to begin with...
maxing out at 40psi. At idle you're likely to get under 10. If your oil
pressure light is still functional, it comes on at 4psi... if it's not
coming on (and it works), then you have at least 4psi of pressure.

The only other advice is to make sure you're running a heavy enough oil
if you are in a warm location. I run Castrol Synthetic 5W-50... easy
startup and good pressure when hot. Dino oil can thin out badly when hot
and aged.
