Check the ground between the sending unit and the oil filter adapter
or block. The hollow bolt people use to mount the sender doesn't
always have a good ground path -- there's a fiber washer seal between
the shoulder of the bolt and the oil filter adapter and the filter
itself is insulated by its rubber gaskets.

I use an aluminum crushable washer from a Honda oil pan bolt instead
to ensure good ground.

Just run a TEMPORARY grounding wire using strong aligator clips between the
metal base of the oil pressure switch and the negative post of the battery
(or the cable ground connection) and drive the car. If this solves the
problem, then figure out how you want to make the grounding permanent (and better
looking)<GGG>. This method works for ANY suspected grounding problem.
