There is no scraping on either half-shaft ?  That would be obvious - a dead 
giveaway to that problem, and I'm guessing you'd have noticed it already.

I only mention it because I had a similar problem long time ago, and the 
heater hose cut all the way through the half-shaft and the wheel collapsed. 
What a mess on a dark road long way from home.

Wouldn't want to see that happen to anyone else.  Lotsa fun, for sure.

When you find the problem, share it with us who haven't had that particular 
problem (yet) ?
