Yes, GM takes great pains to harden the surface, but it gets even harder once it's broken in. Craig Gee......not in any engineering or materials class I ever took! If it does, it isn't a "good thing", it's called Brinell hardening, and it indicates the wrong design for the load or the wrong materials! Cordially, John
