As a retiree from the Fairfax Plant in Kansas City
Kansas where the Malibu and the Saturn Aura are
produced. I would like to say that the plant does all
it's body panel stamping in-house. It has done so
since 1987 when production was moved from the old WWII
Fairfax Plant to the present plant.
As for the car's styling, it is just a little
utilitarian , but then again so were the original
Malibu and Corvair body styles.
The cars are no longer painted in plant. A
conveyor was built over the river to Kansas City MO to
the Earl Scheib Shop and then back across the river to
the Trim Department in the plant.

 JUST KIDDING!!!

They're not really truly Chevrolets. The bodies are
built by... ?

(Drum roll)

...take a friggin' guess.

And GM pays them for building them. ?? It's
almost like
subsidized encroachment. And it makes about as much
sense.

I give up. No new Chevy in THIS camp even if I
*could* afford it.
