Checked timing. 14 degrees initial. Checked against factory manual, calls
for 32 degrees total, including vacuum advance. Vacuum advance is not
hooked up, checked it recently and it does not work. Advanced total timing to 32
degrees.

The "total" includes initial and Mechanical advance only - Don't worry about
Vacuum advance, it comes and goes before much mechanical advance come in. On
most distributors you will get 18 - 22 degrees of Mechanical advance all in
by about 3000 (less RPM on 140s much more RPM on Turbos. So the 20 in the
distributor and about 14 initial gives you 34 total. That seems close to right.
I think that, once you get your dwell squared away, and reset the initial
timing again - You will have to re-check it after the dwell setting, you will be
fine. - Seth Emerson
